Sony recently announced the launch of the new Playstation 5 console that will be visually quite different from the predecessors. Especially for its two white sides, although photos of a completely black Playstation 5 or even one with gold sides and controls have been leaked in social media.
Also, Sony revealed that the new generation would have two types of consoles, in which one will have a 4K UHD Blu-ray optical reader, and the other will not have the reader but will focus on users who only want to download the games from the virtual store. Many of the PS4 users only bought non-physical online games. The PS5 without the reader is expected to be cheaper than the first one.
As for the technical characteristics, the new console will come with an 8-core AMD Ryzen Zen 2 CPU at 3.6GHz, a custom AMD Radeon RDNA 2 GPU graphics card with 36 CU at 2.23 GHz (10.3 teraflops), a 16GB RAM memory GDDR6, Storage will be 825GB SSD, capable of generating 120 frames per second and a Blu-ray UHD 4k reading unit.
On the other hand, the PS5 will come with a redesigned controller since the previous four versions maintained a somewhat similar design. This controller is characterized by having new technologies such as haptic feedback which offers a broader range of sensations than the vibrations that we are used to with the PS4 controller. Additionally, the DualSense's triggers are adaptive and also the controller comes with Tempest 3D AudioTech technology that promises to give gamers a new feeling of immersion. As for its weight, the controller will be a little heavier than the predecessor.
Additionally, as it was recently known, the new console will have a lower power consumption that will focus on saving. Concerning the recent protests over climate change, Sony published an entry on its website signed by its new president Jim Ryan in which they talk about their commitment to the environment.
